Why am I doin' this?
I try to find myself as one of those siteproducers, who perceives the concept as a one big set with many different variables. There's always a way to look behind the frontend and vice versa. There's always a way to understand the possibilities. There's always a way to know what's current and cool, but still relevant.
These are the basic demands, when you want to serve your customers like a professional. It's all about the understanding and looking around. You need to be able to justify your choises whether they're graphical, technical or conceptual. You need to be able to stand behind your choises and fight for them!
Either a designer or a coder
Too often I've been working with the designers, who really don't know a thing about the realities and the limits of publishing. So many times I've been taking a serious conversation for catching the facts against the designers desires. Still, more than that, I've been fighting againts the coders, who are always trying to find the easiest possible way of creating. They're setting the limits too high despite even the idea's conceivable.
Worst of all, too often there seems to be less time to focus on a conceptual structure behind all. This is a basic thing and should always be planned properly to get the pieces work together in a practical way.
All by myself?
I'm not saying here that the way I do producing, designing or what ever you like to call it, is the only possible way for understanding this field. It's just that I love to live like that. I love to find out, where's the top and how to get there. I want to be a part of a team and work with the people who know how the NET really works!
